ZIPpo

It's metal, I couldn't resist.
Very limited palette - burnt sienna, ultramarine blue
and titanium white.
I don't use white with my watercolors so the paper did that job.

Had fun and Thanks to Theresa Bayer for bringing this Challenge to light!

Just looking for the carving tools

Three little punkins sitting on the shelf...
I'll soon be carving them up to make Jack O Lanterns for Halloween.

Painting and Football...

I got to paint these little bits today while watching football. I love this new arrangement called "red zone".

All the action and excitement of all the games can be seen.

New England added a little weather to the mix...hence the snowscape!

Then things were bleak for the Lions. I had so much hope...hence the bare treed river bank.

All in all it was a very good day...Drew really wiped Eli's nose in it. (It's the only time I don't scream for the Giants.) Buffalo did it...and Brett had fun too!

A beautiful fall day!

By the Sea

Well it used to be!

Now it's part of my collection.

It doesn't remind me of the Bahamas and the sun and sand and coral but it does make me yearn for conch fritters!

Sun setting even now

It isn't raining at this moment and the sun is going down. Just over an hour of day left, wishful thinking? Sure!
Bad news for all you guys back east...weather headed your way and I heard the "S" word!

Yes it is...Morning Glory! Yet another watercolor greeting card, measuring 5x7 and blank inside. Mail it to a flower lover or mat and frame and keep it for yourself.

How Soon?

It rained again today. That can only mean one thing, there's snow falling in higher elevations.

How soon will it look like this?

Another 5x7 greeting card suitable for framing or sending to someone special.

On the greeting card express

Took a little break to plant some flowers but I'm right back at my table getting a few new greeting cards ready.

Another sunny fall day. Can't stay away from flowers. I love my orchids and live in the land of roses so there you go!

Planted a zillion of these and none showed up!

Don't seem to be able to grow things outdoors. I planted so many petunia seeds this year and guess how many popped up...

None.
If they did, they would have looked like this.

Maybe next year.

On the way

Ready to open and ready to close, poppies on a greeting card ready to go.

Fall Greetings

So many sunflowers are hanging their heavy heads. Another sign of the season, loaded with seeds and tempting all the birds.

Back in greeting card mode and getting ready for a show.

Loves me, Loves me NOT!

Shasta
I look longingly at the daisies flourishing in every other yard. My black thumb technique has killed several in mine.

At least I have some luck with indoor plants.

Maybe it's just bad timing...

bad weather?

When I go to the beach, there's always a weather event.

First time I visited Oregon, the beach trip was a real wash out. Even lost an umbrella.
Well not really lost, more like destroyed by the wind gusts. We were soaking wet from the rain.
It was still a very good day.

After I relocated here and took a few visitors to the beach, we all froze walking out to the tidal pool to see the sea stars and anemones.

It's been wind, rain and snow ever since.

The one thing I know is the beach is beautiful no matter what the weather.

Meal or Snack?

My personal favorite - Food!

I only remember that "california roll" was the sushi item at the Marriott concierge buffet.

In other words, it isn't something I'd order but was a perfect accompaniment to a glass of wine and brief break before heading out for dinner.

What can be wrong about bite sized morsels?

In case you didn't recognize it - it's another fun challenge from Karin Jurick and the Different Strokes from Different Folks blog.

Gas Free

...and you never have to wash it either!

It's another greeting card for a special someone - a favorite little trucker!

Antique Artist - Self Portrait

Born into a colorless world...at least there was television,
it was just black and white.
Most snapshots were black and white, too.

This 4x6 portrait is based on a snap taken as I finished bawling.

Near as I can figure, I wasn't allowed to play in this get up and that upset me - obviously.

I preferred dungarees. Remember that word?

Beach Dreams

Beach Dreams
It snowed here again. I am focused on all things non-winter. Today I hauled out the shell collection and made sure I had photos of them all. I actually got a little sand on my drafting table. It was quite nice.

Pink Lady with some old stuff!

It's no secret I like painting stuff that's older than me.
It reminds me just how far we've come in a short while. Now the apple is new and will soon have a little caramel on it and then it will be gone. Just like that...POOF! So I thought it might be nice to do a little portrait of "pink lady" before she was no more.

Gotta go the caramel is ready!
