In Progress - Voice your opinion

I'm working on this 5x7 watercolor as a study for a much larger piece. I can't decide on what to do for a background. Do I go for a sky blue, a mottled green. nothing at all or something else?
Here's a chance to voice your opinion. Comment with your choice. I'll consider all suggestions. If I go with your brilliant idea, I will show my gratitude appropriately.

Something that always catches my eye, a lighthouse.

Put it on a cliff and it's even better.

Why not add a sunset just for fun?

Yes. I saw them in the yard. OK. So right now they are merely lumpy buds but Spring is really popping up :D

Where does it lead?

A request for a field of poppies has led me to work on this 9x12 watercolor. This painting is in progress but managed to cheer me in spite of a bout with a nasty virus.

The paints were the same, isn't it amazing the difference a paper makes? The little one is on Arches 140# CP and the larger is Kilimanjaro 140# CP.
