My Mug and a little guys cookies...

Just got a little painting in so a DPW Challenge response

is in order.

This is my "get well" mug - used for tea and hot cider

when I'm not in tip top shape.

The cookies are the last of my little grandsons favorites :D

Winter Quiet

Created in response to the DPW Challenge

I chose to change the season to get a better view of the mill.

Watercolor on lanaquarelle rough paper this painting measures 7 x 10 inches.

When we hit 90 degrees - looking at this is chilling!

This is only one of many little guys that live in the oaks in my yard. He took the running jump off the roof to get to this plum tree outside my kitchen window. "Companion" was done in response to this weeks' DPW Challenge

I will have to start carrying my camera everywhere I go. Tuesday was overcast and rainy off and on. As we left for errands around 9AM I noted the neighbors poppies and wisteria and thought I should have that camera. Mind you we live in the city. Small city but very populated area. So as I check out the flowers in the yards DH asks "Is that a big dog or small horse?"
My intelligent response was "Huh?"
"In the road" he says.
I look at the street. Running right up the center...
"Neither. That would be deer. Momma and 2 fawns."
She is looking all over but not wavering or leaving the middle of the street. The little ones are running and jumping behind her. Intersection - dead ahead. We are cruising along at 3 mph. She stops, now in the middle of the intersection. Noses the fawns close to her and keeps looking around for a place to go.
Time for us to turn away and give her the opportunity to get her family someplace safe.
NO CAMERA and no other cars on the road.
