Boat Trip!
You can't get everywhere by car! Whenever it heats up, I remember a trip to the Bahamas. Pick an island that's not heavily populated for a real escape. No phone, television, or computer just snorkel and swim or maybe dive. Beautiful sights above and below the water and a very laid back existence.

Quick game of Pitch?
One more day of the summer vacation road trip is done and we're parked in the campground getting ready to settle down for the night. Maybe a quick game of cards before lights out...

Are we THERE yet?
The saga of a Family Vacation, hitting the road with a "woody" full of kids and towing the "pop up" living accommodations.
The best part is the journey and seeing all there is to see! And of course the games we play to pass the time...
License plates from how many different places?
You spy what?
"HE'S TOUCHING ME!"
And the ever popular "Are we there yet?"
Just a boat load of memories :D
Leaving Illinois and heading west for fun summer vacation and a visit to Yellowstone!

OLD and in the way?
Ages ago, the Buffalo Zoo had an ancient tortoise with a saddle. If you were lucky, like me, you got a turtle ride!
A relatively safe excursion for a small child, actually kinda boring and uneventful.
There's even a chance you'd saddle up and stand still.
It's still a fond memory and how many people can say they rode a turtle? Really?

The Challenge
The latest ACEO Challenge is Long Legs! This painting was created in response to that challenge. "Stilt" or "Does this reflection make me look taller?" is just one response.

surf city
Another in the "road trip" series. Hope there are no steep hills or mountains on the route! This 4 cylinder just about crawls uphill...

Summer is here and the time is right for a ROAD TRIP!
This is my 71 Karmann Ghia with the top down and on a roll...

Take a little trip...
Summer travel that's all about seeing the USA through the windows of your car. Head off to a National Park or Forest and stop on the way to see the corn palace and the biggest ball of twine and a National Monument or two.

The Passage
Always a happy sight when canoeing, no need to portage, Hooray!
The Passage
Another exercise in painting with one brush, a half inch flat. The birds were added with pen when I initialed and signed it.

Retreat
As a kid I was only allowed one pet. No fur or feathers and small enough to reside in my room were the other restrictions.
Fish are nice to look at but you can't take them out to play.
I got a turtle at the 5 and dime along with a plastic bowl with a ramp and plastic palm tree.
Well, here I am all these years later in this painting holding my pet. Yes he's pulled himself back into his shell but just for the moment :D
