and a story on the inside too!
Small format and ATC/ACEO original watercolor paintings by Lee Pierce.

SEASHELLS Block all the Winter Weather!

Been house bound since the 19th...it snowed here - big time.
Apparently snow removal equipment wasn't on anyone's list!
I don't really have anywhere I want to go but, it's darned annoying that I can't drive anywhere, yet.

Cockle Shell
I am so done with snow; I no longer miss wild blizzards and deep snow drifts.
I can't wait for the big melt revealing all the ferns and mosses that are hiding!
Maybe there'll even be a newt here soon for a visit...

Itty Bitty Christmas

Everybody loves to decorate for the Holidays, even the tiny folks that dwell in doll houses.
These little paintings measure 3/4 x 1 inch and are framed in little gold resin frames. Created on Arches 140lb cotton watercolor paper with Daniel Smith and M Graham artist watercolors these little bits are actually bound for a miniature lover.
Merry Christmas!

Preparing for Christmas...
I am done with my must do items and finally can get started on preparing for Christmas! It's relief and none too soon as I promised to paint all my greeting cards this year. It's a resolution I've kept so all the birthday and anniversary cards I sent this year have been 5 x 7 watercolor paintings.
I've started the Christmas Greetings and here are a few samples...I just need about 40 to cover my list!

On the Cliff

Holly
...To the Woods

Creek Melt

A little Fog, a little Snow...
Happy Christmas from the Oregon I know!
The two greeting cards pictured below are in my Etsy shop.
Just in case you're looking for a little something special.

More Winter Greetings...Let it Snow!

I know there's snow happening back east. I still get that thrill of the first snow even if I'm nowhere near it.

Not Quite Ready...

The days are shorter and the kids are back to school. The nights are cooler and leaves are already falling off the oaks in my yard. I know what's coming but I am not quite ready fall, just yet.
Just hanging on to the last blooms a little while longer.

Welcome to Venice

It was a warm Spring day when I exited the train station in Venice and realized how different, exciting and fun this trip would be! Sadly, most of my slides from this trip are missing.
I stumbled across a tube of Venetian red...so here we are!

Fall Colors and Volcanoes

Heading to the land of vivid fall colors, I hope I haven't missed the peak!
I'm sure I'll be busy playing with a new baby and catching up with new houses and many other changes but I really want to capture a few shots of foliage.
The weather here is perfect, sunny and warmer, no rain! Who could ask for a better fall day. Even clear enough to capture Mt St Helens and Mt Hood in the distance. Yes, it snowed on the mountains...just beautiful!

What a gorgeous day!

Travel in my future...

Just love to travel...will be off quite soon:>) Not too sure there will be any material for painting, I live in hope. Visiting family and catching up with all that is new with them. Lots of changes happened this year. I will have the opportunity to enjoy cider and some crisp tart apples! Am hoping for some crisp and cool fall days, as well.
Have an excellent day!

Starting out...

Been thinking of starting this forever and thought I'd finally give it a shot. Watercolors are my addiction. Just can't make it through a day without a brush in my hand.
Each time the season changes or some thing catches my eye, even produce at the grocery store, the urge to paint takes over.
Miniature paintings have been a pleasure to create. A piece of original artmeasuring 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches can be placed anywhere. Propped on an easel, in a magnet frame, in an album or matted and framed and hung on the wall. It's an affordable way for everyone to collect and display art.
The weather is changing and there will not be any summer days at the beach for quite awhile. Actually, last week I took a little side trip to the coast and got nailed by wind and rain. It was beautiful, just not a sunbathing opportunity.
I'm thinking it will be good material for a painting, I'll let you know how it turns out.
