Firefly Season
As a kid this was my favorite time of year. Armed with a mayonnaise jar with holes punched in the lid, I headed out into the summer night to catch some fireflies. All my friends and neighbors were out too. The adults were just admiring the sight while all the kids were trying to make their own night light in hopes of being allowed to sleep out in the yard.
Small format and ATC/ACEO original watercolor paintings by Lee Pierce.
Landscapes, seascapes, flowers and bear adventures...always watercolor and sometimes with a little something else.

big brush little painting
River Sunset
This was so much fun! Paper soaking wet, brush is 1 inch wide and go to it! I never enjoyed 300 lb paper until this one.
Funny, the brush was almost as big as the paper.
OK, the birds were added with a 6 round when the paper dried :D

largest most delicious local berries
I found the most Perfect Red for my palette...and then I ate it!
Just a little bit of fun before the strawberries are gone.

A Little Bigger
This poppy portrait is 11 x 15 or a quarter sheet.
Just a little bigger than usual!
This was definitely fun to do so I'm off working on a couple 17 x 22 hoping they will be at least twice the fun.

SUN two days in a row...
and more california poppies
Now they are open and everywhere! Happy little bits of sun popping up in fields and in the rocks. It's so nice to see them, perks me right up :D

Rain Drops
"Rain Drops" on blue bells a mini painting was created with Daniel Smith and M Graham watercolors on 140# CP Fabriano cotton watercolor paper. The May Challenge in Watercolors Wet N Wild was water in its liquid form. I finally completed this just a few days late. Oregon supplied lots of rain but the campanula just bloomed.

Theme Time
Big MOON Light
Nothing like a theme to spark some painting. The ACEO Theme this month is MOON.
Big MOON Light reminds me of summer nights when I was a kid. Running around playing hide and seek with friends by moonlight.
Moon Life
Lets be real. There is no life on the moon. So here is the occasional visitor waiting for takeoff! Yup, the rocket is silver. I spy a tropical storm hanging around Baja. This was a fun thing especially the sparkly parts.
Full Moon
SOLD
No escape! Camp in the middle of nowhere and the moon still finds you.
