black eyes are a good thing

With all the rainy days we've had, maybe it's time to make my own sunny spots. Black eyed susans remind me of bright, hot, lazy, summer days!

Lovely, Lee. Thanks for showing the progression. Did you have masking over the flowers until the background was completely finsihed? Hope you don't mind me asking. Was just wondering how you got the flowers so bright without having those spots all over them.
There is just so much to learn.....

Hi Carol!
If I'm doing the background first and i want it to be dark in places, I mask the things I want to keep light. The flowers were all masked.
Some how I missed taking the first picture...all white with Grumbacher's Miskit.
