what's up?

in the palms
Just a little light reflected off the palms...yup, I have escaped to warmer weather (in my mind) since it seems to be rainy and cool here.
So many of the things running through my brain have jumped out onto little pieces of paper and are in various stages of "not done" on my table.
Just love having lots of work!
Thanks for stopping by...

Now Lee, would you do anything different if it were moonlight vs sunlight? I'm seriously asking here because isn't sunlight yellow and moonlight bright white? Don't know which you intended but I'm sensing moonlight and a tropical breeze.

Exactly, Carol... I call this unpainting :D I started layering washes of watercolor on a blank piece of paper. No drawing or masking. Greens and Blues until I got a nice dark. Then I lifted the palm fronds and trunk and added color just to the trunk.
For daytime, I would have painted rather than unpainted ;)

Lee, very nice! I have trouble lifting. You have mastered the technique.

Thanks Rhonda :D It's all about tools. I use white flat synthetic brushes for lifting. Royal soft grip very inexpensive and don't damage the paper.
